Alleynes High School is a good school with some outstanding features.
(Ofsted, December 2011)

Ofsted inspected the school on 7th- 8th December, 2011 and the school was judged to be Good with some Outstanding features.

Some highlights are:

There is a shared vision that places raising the achievement of all students at the heart of the schools work.

The improvement work undertaken on using assessment activities in lessons has resulted in outstanding work across the school.

Students consistently behave well and enjoy positive relationships with their teachers.

The students behaviour and attitudes to learning are consistently good, as reflected in their excellent attendance, which is high compared to the national average.

Students report that they feel safe in school, well looked after and express confidence in staff to deal with any misbehaviour effectively.

Teaching is predominantly good across the curriculum with a significant proportion of it judged outstanding.

I wish to thank everyone who has supported the school over the past few years, in particular our parents, Governing Body and staff for all their hard work.

I feel privileged to be the Headteacher of Alleynes High School and strongly believe that we have a school that the community can be proud of.

End of Term Arrangements
13/12/2011 10:48:37 - General

Dear Parent/Carer,
As you are aware Alleyne's High School had a full OfSTED Inspection on the 7th and 8th December.  The full report still needs to be validated but as soon as this is complete we will let you know.

The lead inspector wants me to ensure that the students of Alleyne's were congratulated on their mature and articulate contributions and very thoughtful responses to their questions.  The students really are a credit to the school and their families; I was extremely proud.

End of term arrangements at Alleyne's fall in line with those of Christ Church Academy.  Buses will be collecting students at 2.00 p.m. on Tuesday 20th December 2011.  Any student who is unable to leave school at this time is welcome to stay in the Library/HUB area until 3.25 p.m.

May I wish all students and their family a very happy and joyous Christmas and look forward to a prosperous and successful New Year on behalf of all of the staff at Alleyne's High School.

Yours sincerely,

Strike Action 30th November 2011
24/11/2011 11:49:39 - Parents

Dear Parent / Guardian

INDUSTRIAL ACTION WEDNESDAY, 30 NOVEMBER 2011

As you may have seen in the media, trades unions representing staff employed in the public sector, including schools, have called for industrial action on Wednesday, 30 November 2011.

This industrial action is being taken over the issue of proposed changes to public sector pension schemes. As such, the dispute is with the Government, not with the school or local authority. Neither the local authority nor the National Governors Association support the action; however, as it results from ballots conducted in accordance with current employment legislation, it is regarded as a legitimate trade dispute.

In such circumstances, responsibility for responding to the strike as it affects this school falls upon the governing body.

Following an assessment of the likely number of staff who intend to take strike action and the implications of that action for pupils, it has been decided that the school will be closed on Wednesday, 30 November, 2011.

The governing body apologises for any disruption caused by this industrial action and wish to assure you that everything possible will be done to maintain the continuity of educational provision for your children.

Yours sincerely,

W JENNINGS (Mrs)

Vice Chair of Governors
